chinese headdress

This antique Chinese eight immortals child crown headdress hat dates from the 1920s. It is all hand stitched, made of colorful silk fabrics, with raised padded satin stitch embroidery work. There is a cut out scalloped tiara crown front panel, with an appliqued butterfly, beading and eight immortal figures stamped out of a sheet of silver and covered in a gold wash attached onto the front. They represent high, noble character and vast spirit. There is a wind flap draping panel covering the back of the neck for warmth. This unusual unique shaped hand crafted hat has a detailed 3 dimensional cut out decorative design, with colorful silk tassel trim and beading. It is fully lined in a blue cotton fabric inside. http://www.1860-1960.com
